Real Proboscis Monkey

August 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

At first glimpse, I thought the Borneo International Marathon’s mascot is an Orang Utan. But apparently, I’m wrong. It’s a Proboscis monkey, another DNA branch of our far cousin, 2nd to Big Foot and Yeti. What really attracts me is the nose.. hmmm.. can come in handy sometime.. : )

Back on track..

August 21, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Well, so many days have passed since I dropped in something in here. Rest assure that the Cat is still running and sweating pursuing the ultimate dream. Yeah.. it’s olympic fever now, all eyes are on Beijing for the biggest sporting event of the world. My personal favourites would be the 100M sprint, 10KM and Marathon. Usain Bolt from Jamaica smashed the 100M record at 9.69 sec easily, leaving all the rest of the runners behind him just like one of the Duracell battery advert. Tomescu Constantina from Romania clinched the top by finishing at 2 hrs 26 min 44 sec for the women’s marathon. Men’s marathon will happen this Sunday, 24 Aug. which is also the last day of the event.
.
It is in my 2008 resolution to join 2 running events, which I’ve achieved it right now. However, no harm to try another one for the better. Initially, I was thinking to join the Penang Bridge International Marathon in Nov 2008, but due to lack of preparation & training for a full marathon, might as well just save it for next year. Anyway, RunningCat will be in Kota Kinabalu in October for the Borneo International Marathon 2008 ! yeah.. the name alone can gives you the chill…

Marathon World Record

May 14, 2008 · 2 Comments

The Marathon World Record was set in Berlin 2007 by Haile Gebrselassie. He finished the marathon race in 2hr 4min 26sec. This is something impossible to most but attainable to some.

Running Around The World (seriously)

May 13, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Apparently, this 53 yrs old Chinese guy, Tong Ju is really serious in fullfilling his dream. He is known to the masses as “The Iron Legs of China” and seriously, he really loves running. He is so serious until he’s passionate enough to leave his job and family behind on a mission to run around the world. This is what I called ‘enjoying every footsteps of it”. Full cheers to him.
