1% done, 99% to go …

November 19, 2007 · 2 Comments

After synchronizing my iPod to the server, I was stunned for a second…

Hey world, I’ve achieved 1% in my quest to Run Around The World ! This left me with 39,642 km more to run. It took me a total of 33 hrs and 36 minutes, 64 runs at approximately 6.3km each to do it.

Damn I’m proud of my little achievement … J

Records : Longest Distance Per Run III

June 26, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Having taken an annual leave from my work on Friday, 22 June 2007, I believe I’ve spend enough time on the bed, sleeping and hibernating, conserving energy for my big day on Saturday. Yes, due to monsoon rain that hit almost every afternoon throughout the past few days in Kuching, I’m behind my scores, for both distance and speed goals. So, I decide to do some catch up on Saturday, 23 June 2007.

It was a wonderful morning, fairly sunny and less traffic. I started slowly by speed walking for a mile to warm-up the muscles, then some stretching. My target was to run as far as I could (certainly with a goal to smashed the 2nd longest distance record). My strategy is to run slowly at a pace of 6 to 6’ 30” per km and maintain a steady heart rate and breathing (damn it, I wish I got my new Heart Rate Watch with me today).

After 1 hour 45 minutes of running, I pull it off at 16.09 km. For the 1st time, I can really feel the exhaustion on my body especially my knees. I believe I can go further than this, physically but not mentally. Somehow, by knowing that you’re almost there (getting near to breaking your previous record), the last round seems to last forever.

I guessed Yuri was right all the way, ‘the mind is the weakest link’…

100km Goal Achieved!

June 9, 2007 · 9 Comments

It’s not really that much, but being my 1st distance goal set to test my endurance and self discipline, it does worth something.

Distance Goal 100km in 30 days May-June

So, here it is : to run 100 km in 30 days; been there, achieved it, and moving on. My next distance goal is 105 km in 30 days, again it’s not that significant but I’m setting some other goals such as speed, frequency and challenges to go with it.

First 100km Marked !

May 28, 2007 · Leave a Comment

After completing the 15km run last Saturday (26 May 07), I’ve covered a total of 110.3km (68 miles) in my journey. This marked 0.28% in distance of the overall 40,043km. The next milestone would be 500km, which I hope to complete by mid/end of Aug 07.

With my new Nike+ sports gear, the tracking job is now easier and faster. However, I’m still using the excel log sheet to perform some calculation and backup, just in case.

So, next stop at 500km, till then.
