Slowing down mate ?

July 28, 2007 · Leave a Comment

It’s been a while since I key in something here. Life has been busy lately but the running is still ongoing. Just don’t have much inspiration to write, that’s all. Slowing down? no way mate.

I had completed the 2nd Sarawak Most KM run last month. There were only about 4 participants all together from the state of Sarawak. Able to finishes on the 2nd spot behind the winner, Kenny Sia, who manage pull a great distance away after coming back from the Penang International Bridge Run. Congratulations to him and the rest who had participated.

In the upcoming month of August, there will be another Nike+ nationwide challenge in conjunction with the independence day celebration. This run is open to nationwide entries and shall end on 31 Aug 07, which also turns out to be the 50th Merdeka Day for Malaysia!

I bet competition will be fierce due to the great numbers of entries. This would be an unofficial 1st nationwide Nike+ race since its introduction.

Runners, strap on your shoes as Running Cat is aiming for the top 5, see you at the finish line!

My Gear: Heart Rate + Calorie Counter Watch by Liquid Pulse

July 6, 2007 · 3 Comments

I got myself a new Liquid Pulse’s Heart Rate Watch from an E-Bay auction store (onlinedigitalauctions) last week. The winning bid is about RM 98 + shipping fee from Australia to Kuching. Initially, I was planning to get the HR 102 Heart Rate Monitor Watch from Oregon Scientific, however it cost almost twice the price.

Well, basically it’s capable of performing these sports functions;

1) measuring your heart rate through ECG pulse detection

2) calories counter

3) stop watch for recording your lap time

4) exercise program management

Other than these, it got almost all the other functions that a normal digital wrist watch is capable of ex. water resistant, alarm, 12/24 hr time, date etc. What I like about this watch is the rugged construction, huge button that accessed easily and large display for my small eyes to glimpse while on the run.

It comes with 1 yr warranty, a nice egg shell gift box and an informative manual showing you how to use it.

I’ll write more about it soon when I start my heart rate training program.
